I wasn’t aware they had a roofing side to the business so decided to get their advice and a quote. JDB Decorating and Property Services undertook the renovation of the render on our (external) stairwell and the repainting of the walls and metal railings. The quality of preparation and work was fantastic and was completed within the expected timescale. As part of the planned work, it was suggested that we have the stairwell pressure hosed too – to remove moss and staining – which was a great idea. What a transformation! We were extremely pleased with the work carried out, Johnny and his team were professional and highly skilled and did not pressure us to undertake more work than was necessary (e.g we were able to retain the majority of the (sound) render, which was good). We had woodwork in our conservatory that had suffered water and sun damage to the original varnishing. When Johnny came to see the job, he advised using a special blocking primer to cover the staining. The job was so well done. When he saw the job, Darren suggested using an oil based paint on top to help protect the wood from the high temperatures and it was applied brilliantly. It has also lasted extremely well. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend JDB, as everyone from first contact to the completion of the work was friendly and so very professional. The materials they used were of first class professional quality and expertly used. We decided to go with JDB to have our entire 2 bedroom flat decorated. Our property is fairly old with a layout that incorporates some awkward angled surfaces and internal heights. Part of the reason we chose JDB was based on their ability to clearly communicate how they would carry out the decorative works in a safe and efficient manner.
We also note the time taken to explain colour and finish options as we had limited knowledge on what was on offer. We really did feel like a priority and that no question was to silly.
In terms of the work, we were delighted to note the quality of the finish and detail (our work also included work to, and around internal cornice sections). Further care was taken to clear up the dust sheets I’m pleased to confirm that our flat was left in a very tidy manner. We were given a sensible timescale on receipt of the quote and I’m very happy to say that the deadlines were met comfortably.
